National Heritage Protection Plan progress & consultation plans

The 6 month review on progress of the National Heritage Protection Plan (NHPP) is now available on the English Heritage website.

Covering the period, April - September 2013, the report charts the progress of projects across the sector under seven measures. These include; Foresight, the Protection of Significance, Supporting measures of socio-economic research, capacity building, and engagement with the past. The Activity programme report which provides detail of the English Heritage action plan will be circulated annually in May 2014, in a shorter and more informative format.
Also useful as background to the Review is the Introduction, which explains the purpose of the Plan as a framework within which all can direct resources to the areas of greatest priority and the Framework. The NHPP, as the guiding framework, is of particular importance now that the DCMS consultation on the future of English Heritage asks (Q15) whether the NHPP should form the basis of the business plan for Historic England.
